Big AK 2-18-09

Boardercross was a blast, thanks to the hard work of the Alyeska crew and Big AK volunteers.  You never see the guys on the equipment because they work at night:  Leary & Karl are the best!  Thanks to Matt, Janet, Tim, Jeff and Corbett (the Michaelangelo of course setters) for the Event.

Results will be posted on our website when Steve has time--he's out of town for a week.  Series Winners are posted here! Remember that you need at least 2 events per discipline to win the Series or to be on the NRS on the USASA website, even if you're the only one in your age group.  If you're a Series Winner and plan on competing in your event at Nationals you  better make travel plans, Big AK does not have a volunteer travel coordinator so you're on your own for housing and air reservations.

Thanks to all the BX volunteers.  We'll need even more next year, along with a radio system that works and a new BX gate with a gate that drops.  Angel Mancari was the angel at registration along with gate judges and course setters and course tear downers (they're out there before and after the event--a looooong day):  Steve Voth, Konstantin Bartnitski, Francis Byerly, Rob Kineear, Pete Montanelli, Tim Jennings, Jody Wolfe, Jody Moses, Rick Quattlebaum.  Glen and Dee got the best job of the day:  finish line judges, thanks!

Training program hoodies and tees are included in your training fees.  They look fabulous thanks to Sydney and mom Jody Moses!  Jody will be at Hilltop training tonight to distribute the rest of them.
