Big Alaska Snowboard & Freeski Club

Hello Everyone!!                                                                  1-30-06

It has been cold out, VERY COLD...but that did not stop the 25 competitors from coming out to race in the 2-Race Northernboarder USASA Big Alaska Snow Series Giant Slalom this past weekend. The first course was pretty technical and the second course was VERY fast. Everyone had a great time even though it was so cold!

I want to say a special hello to Sparky Kesler who was not competing with us this past weekend, because she is out with a knee injury - Sparky we are all pulling for you to have a speedy recovery!!!!

Jan 31 (tues)

Big Alaska Team training at Anchorage Gymnastics 6:30 - 7:30

Feb 1 (wed)

Big Alaska Team training at Hilltop Ski Area 4:30 - 7:30

Check in at the Big Alaska table in the Chalet

Feb 4 (sat) 

2 USASA Big Alaska Snow Series Slalom Races

Event fee $20 for each race ($40 for both races), must be a USASA member to compete.

Registration is 9:30 - 11:30 at the Big Alaska Commons located downstairs from the Sitzmark - up the stairs from the Bake Shop

Race 1 - 12:30

Race 2 - 2:30

Awards to follow in the Daylodge.

Competition days can be long, especially when running 2 races in the same day.

Annual Charity Auction for Challenge Alaska at Alyeska Resort

Feb 5 (sun) 

Big Alaska Team Training at Alyeska Resort 10:30 - 3:30

Check in at the Big Alaska Commons located downstairs from the Sitzmark - up the stairs from the Bake Shop. Be sure to pack a nutritious lunch and bring some water as we only break for 1/2 hour for lunch. Also, if the temperatures remain as cold as they are - be sure to dress for extreme weather.
